Make it a Gorlok Summer
Make it a Gorlok Summer
Summer is a great time to catch up on classes, participate in internships, or just generally relax before the start of the next academic year. Students are able to reside on campus in the summer, rather than moving home or seeking an alternative arrangement!
Summer housing applications open over Spring Break each year. Priority deadline for summer housing applications is April 20, but applications will be accepted after on a rolling basis, as space allows.
Eligibility for Summer Housing
All active Webster students are eligible for summer housing. Students must have been actively enrolled in the prior Spring semester, upcoming Fall semester or the Summer term which coincides with the student's summer housing request. May graduates who are not seeking additional enrollment and/or degrees are not eligible. Current Webster students who are not graduating do not need to take summer classes to be eligible for summer housing. Incoming students are not eligible for summer housing, as these students are not yet considered to be actively enrolled. Summer site transfer or Study Abroad students are required to live on campus per the residency requirement.
Housing Options
Summer housing is only available in some space types, with almost all students living in the Webster Village Apartments. It is important to know that while it is not preferred, over the summer you may be required to move to a different Housing assignment than where you currently live or where you get assigned in the Fall due to facilities work and summer camps/conferences.
Bridge Housing
If you would like to stay in housing before or after the summer course term (May 27–July 26, 2024) or transition from the spring and/or to the fall, you will need to sign up for bridge housing. Note that all bridge costs are in addition to the flat rate charged for the summer term.
Bridge 1 is the transition period from Spring 2024 to Summer 2024. You must have a housing contract for Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 to use this option. This option covers the period of May 10–27, which is not included in the Spring 2024 or Summer 2024 housing contracts.
Bridge 2 is the transition period from Summer 2024 to Fall 2024. You must have a housing contract for Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 to use this option. This option covers the period of July 26–Fall Move-In (late August), which is not included in the Summer 2024 or Fall 2024 housing contracts.
If wanting to live on campus continuously from the end of the Spring 2024 semester to the beginning of the Fall 2024 semester, you will need to:
- Have an active housing contract for the Spring 2024 semester.
- Submit a Summer 2024 application and request Bridge 1 Housing and Bridge 2 Housing.
- Submit a Fall 2024–Spring 2025 Housing application.

Canceling after May 10 will result in a $600 cancellation fee. Canceling after moving into a student’s summer space will result in full summer charges.
Summer Internship Housing
Summer Internship Housing
Housing also offers short-term intern housing for students who are completing internships in the area over the summer. For more information, please reach out to housing@webster.edu.
Summer Storage
Webster Housing does not offer storage for student’s belongings over the summer.
Students looking for summer storage can utilize the Hazzard Moving and Storage Program. The Hazzard Moving and Storage Program requires students to contact Hazzard directly and box up and label any items they want stored. Hazzard and Webster staff will then coordinate the pickup of items after move-out, and delivery to new room in the fall.
Students may also use any other local storage facilities, but you would need to drop off and pick up your own belongings.
